The research project “Transnational Cultural Cooperation Networks: Portugal European, Lusophone and Ibero-American” anticipates an international mapping of cultural networks.
In a first phase, started in July 2015, it was done a gather of organizations that apparently were cultural networks. In July 2016 the second stage began, with the main goal of characterizing the named organisations to assess those which are national or transnational cultural networks.
In this research project, the cultural networks are horizontal organizations (formal or informal), composed of a polycentric mesh of social actors (individual and/or collective, private and/or public) operating in the cultural sector, that communicating efficiently among themselves with at least one common collective objective, and based on multilateral relations, decide to apply part of their resources (human, technical or financial) in a structured way to develop a plan, program, project or action.

O projeto de investigação “Redes de Cooperação Cultural Transnacionais: Portugal europeu, lusófono e ibero-americano” prevê a realização de um mapeamento internacional de redes culturais.
Numa primeira fase, que se iniciou em julho de 2015, efetuou-se um levantamento de organizações que, aparentemente, eram redes culturais. Em julho de 2016 iniciou-se a segunda fase do processo com o objetivo de caraterizar as organizações identificadas para aferir as que devem efetivamente ser consideradas como redes culturais de escala nacional ou transnacional.
Neste projeto de investigação, redes culturais são organizações horizontais (formais ou informais), compostas por uma malha policentrada de atores sociais (individuais e/ou coletivos, privados e/ou públicos) que operam no setor cultural e que, em determinado contexto e em função de pelo menos um objetivo coletivo comum, comunicam eficazmente entre si e, baseados em relações multilaterais, decidem aplicar parte dos seus recursos (humanos, técnicos ou financeiros) para, de forma concertada e estruturada, desenvolver um plano, programa, projeto ou ação.
